Hi, I am a young woman who is now suffering from c diff colitis because of a powerful antibiotic I was given for oral surgery.Let me explain all of the chain of events that lead to this horrific complication.Last month I was home when I felt a really sharp pounding pain on my wisdom tooth, I just moved to a new town and was very far from any dental office except for this one that was just within walking distance.I made an appointment for the same day. I saw an oral surgeon who told me that the tooth has to come out, he did not prescribe a course of amoxicillan for a few days before pulling, he just pulled it. The surgery required cutting and breaking the tooth into small pieces for removal. He prescribed amoxicillan after the surgery and sent me home, well two days later, I had a small apple on the side of my face, fever, chills and extreme pain, trismus lockjaw had also set in. I return to him and tells me that this is normal, he sends me home and tells me to keep my appoitnment for suture removal the following 4 days or so. My face is still severely swollen and the pain unbearable even with vicodin. I go to see him and the front desk workers are staring at my lump, the dr. looks nervous and takes an x ray and tells me that I have a massive infection. He prescribes me clyndamicin and I take it for 7 days, infection goes away but he never warned me of the hellish side effects. 6 weeks later I begin the use the bathroom about 20 to 25 times a day, cannot go to work, and am week, lost 15 pounds and finally end up in the emergancy room, the diagnose me with colitis and c diff and say that it is because of those antibiotics. I call the dentist twice, my calls were ignored, he was not concerned about my condition.C diff can be very hard to treat, and already it has cost me alot. I NEVER had stomach problems in my life, now I do. Any advice??

Children died from it many years ago...I think it may be a modern day SIDS. I have seen two cases in the 1920's.
