Are you knocked out for a colonoscopy?
I might have to get one,I'm a thirteen year old girl.I would prefer it if they did,I think it would be embarrassing to sit there the whole time.
How long will the diarrhea from the colonoscopy prep last?
I started the prep at 2 00 p.m. it is now about 8 30 p.m. . My last BM was probably a half hour ago or so. How long will I still need the restroom? I quit drinking fluids at about 7 30 p.m. because I do not want to be up all night. Prior to starting I drank 36 ounces of fluids over three hours and then after the prep solution which I finished by 5 15 I had about 3.5 cups of fluids. I have never had to do a prep before and I was just wondering when it was " safe" to leave the bathroom. When it comes I can't control it so I am afraid to leave. Also, in previous BM I had a green clear liquid but my more recent ones now has specks of feces in it...is this normal or am I not cleaned out all the way? I would hate to not be prepped correctly because then I would have to do it again. Thanks for the help
I'm worried about getting a colonoscopy?
I have to get a colonoscopy in about 3 4 weeks and I'm worried. I'm not very comfortable with being awake and or aware with someone sticking a tube up my rectum. Any advice??
Do they put you to sleep during a colonoscopy?
why did this get deleted before Do they?Thanks. I called them and they asked. They said " some do some don't" they told me at the office they will give me a sedative and I'll need a driver. But some sedatives don't make you sleep all the way. It will be done at n office,hospitall like setting but not a hospital. They didnt say anthethisia. I guess Im just confused about the word sedative. Thanks again

so im getting a colonscopy and endoscopy to check to see what is going on with my constant stomach pains. they will be putting me under general anesthesia because i am under 18. im supper scared? im afriad that something bad will appen and im afriad of being put under mainly because ive never had to do it and because i dot like that its not something i can control0. the docter reassured me everything would be fine but the read this list of complications of both procedures and since then i have been freaking out. help? whats it like? and is general anesthesia really as scary it sounds i feel like im gonna hate it because itl probably feel to me like i am being forced to black out without having control of when or how and no way to stop it

I've had an endoscopy before, but not a colonoscopy.. I'm getting it because I had bleeding from .. you know. What should I expect? I know I can only have clear fluids the day before, and I have to drink that medicine stuff. But should I expect anything else? I'm turning fifteen soon, I'm getting it next Friday at Childrens hospital detroit. I've had a lot of problems that have been going on a year in March. Including 2 surgeries, and 3 bleeding ulcers. They checked for Pancreatic tumors, that were possibly malignant. And couldn't see very well. Checked my kidneys, and nothing. I'm really scared, I just don't want to show I am.. Any advice from someone who has had a colonoscopy? My mom is trying to make it funnier by joking about it, and it helps at the time, but then I get scared again.. I'm scared that they could find something extremely wrong.. not about being put under anesthetic or anything, I'm used to it. But that they might find something extremely wrong.. Again, advice?

No bowel movement after drinking Magnesium Citrate/Osmoprep pills? HELP!! Colonoscopy tomorrow?
I am getting a colonoscopy and endoscopy of my upper and lower GI. I took osmo prep pills 32 total, taken 20 so far and have drank over 13 8oz. servings of all clear liquid drinks as per my drs recommendation. The pills should have worked. they didn't. so she told me to drink 2 FULL BOTTLES of magnesium citrate.I drank them, with 8 oz of water and I still have not had a bowel movement. I know it says 1 2 6 hr you will see one, but I havent had one at all yet. and its been 1.5 hours.should i be concerned? and what could be going on? anyone have similar experiences? im only 20 years old.thanksoh and im getting the tests done because I have been severely constipated, when i do have a bowel movement its black, i have intense severe stomach pain, HORRIBLE bloating, stomach disstention. and all of it.

I started having all types of problems with my stool in 2009 like blood in my stool hemorrhoidsconstipation abdominal pain bloated a lot of gas........I have honestly been suffering since then. anyway finally 3 weeks ago i went back because i was bleeding everytime i used the restroom and on top pf that it hurt real bad my doctor said she saw an ulcer and she wanted me to go get the colonoscopy.Today i had my appoitment with my gastrologist and she started asking everything about my life, like any problem ive had etc.....I have always had stress in my life, i had a really hard childhood and ive had problems with my ears before too. I also had anxiety, depression, panic attacks.. till recently the doctor said i have ADHD and i am now taking Vyvanse 20 mg. I really do feel that im getting better Thats a little back ground about me.My gastrologist said a lot of things are wrong with me but i should be okay in 6 months... its a long procedure... she is also testing me to see if i have bacteria and if im allergic to any foods. For the moment i am not eating any dairy food but im still confused and scared Add. Info.. i had my baby in 2008
